About Commissions

I welcome the opportunity to design and create unique pieces tailored to a client’s specific desires. It is a rewarding experience to work closely with individuals to help them bring their ideas to life. The commission process typically goes like this:

  1. An exploratory conversation. I discuss your parameters regarding dimensions, material and style preferences, and budget, and we identify themes, details and functions of existing pieces in my portfolio that inspire you.
  2. Develop a design. If you decide to move forward, I will generate several scale drawings or sketches. A design fee is established at this point to cover the creative process.
  3. Create a project plan. Next a project plan is created, detailing the time frame and pricing structure. For projects that closely follow existing pieces, a firm price can be established. For something entirely new, a range or expected cost is given to allow for flexibility in the creative process.
